Dear Dave,
Let me compliment you and thank you sincerely for the excellent work you have done at the World Scout MOOT Canada 2013. As you know, 2500 Rovers from 91 countries attended the Moot which was being held for the first time in North America. After the evaluations by the participants we can say that the Moot was very successful in promoting scouting for young adults (18 to 25 years old), thanks to people like you who have work so hard as volunteers. Your trimarans were very popular by all attendants. Especially appreciated was the wonderful work you have done in showing the handicap scouts how to sail...

Andre Cadieux
Director of activities at the camp and outside the scout camp.

Kayak Sailing with Balogh Sail Designs
By Vladimir Brezina

Kayak sailing has caught on! There is now out there a huge variety of kayak sail rigs, both home-made and commercially produced, ranging from simple sails that are not much more than umbrellas to serious rigs. Most of the simpler sails are downwind sails, offering little or no cross-wind, let alone upwind, performance. True upwind performance, comparable to that of a small sailboat, takes a true aerodynamically efficient upwind sail, and usually outriggers or stabilizers of some kind that allow a much larger sail to be mounted and used aggressively without fear of capsize. Some of the most powerful and elegant such rigs are made by Balogh Sail Designs.

BSD Sail in Action Heike's kayak expedition around Spitsbergen-Svalbard, using BSD sails -
Journal Entry - Getting Ready - learning to rig...
Journal Entry - June 30, 2010... the sails work well...
Note from Heike: "I just wanted to let you know that Heike is doing well on her expedition in Spitzbergen. Her webmaster just received a new journal entry that indicates her BSD sail is working well. She is able to move at least 5 mph even in low winds. Her partner's sail, however, is made for high winds, and needs a lot more wind to move his larger/heavier boat."
